Sample letter needed . . .

Have any of you fellow adoptive parents written a letter to friends and family regarding fundraising for your adoption? If so, would you mind sharing a sample?

I had a call a couple of weeks ago from a fellow PAP asking if I had a sample letter of this sort, and I have not come up with one yet!

I had a few emails that we sent out, but Outlook doesn't keep them for that long. So we didn't really send out a letter saying we'd be doing the fundraising. We sent out an invitation for a dinner that we did and there we were able to tell people about our process, the costs and such.

They have sample letters.
Also Life International is a matching grant program and they draft a letter for you once you apply with them.

There is a Yahoo Group called fundraisingforadoption. I think they have a sample letter in their files section. If you can't find it or if you're not familiar with Yahoo groups just let me know I can look for it for you. This group itself is also a great resource. They are always sharing great adoption fundraising advice and success stories.

Hey...this has nothing to do with fundraising...but I have my church staff and my young married adult department praying for you all by name...I explained the situation you were in and they are praying for you all. Just a little FYI.
