I stumbled across this simple Russian Lullabye titled "Bai, Bai, Bai, Bai" There is a place to click on this website where you can hear the song sung.

Phonetically in Russian

Bai, bai, bai, bai,
Báyu, Detusku mayú!
Bai, bai, bai, bai,
Báyu, Detusku mayú!
Shta na górki, na goryé,
O visyénnei, o poryé,
Ptíchki Bozhiye payút,
F tyómnam lyési gnyózda vyut.

English Translation
Bai, bai, bai, bai,
Bayu, orchid, little dear.
Bai, bai, bai, bai,
Bayu, orchid, little dear.
On the hillside in the spring,
Birds of heaven sweetly sing,
Seeking for their young what's best
In the forest dark they nest.

It is something simple we could learn for our children before we bring them into our families. Something that may possibly be familiar to them.

There's another one that Bayu Bai--saying that day is over, the toys are asleep, the cat is asleep, etc.

Let us know if the Russian lullabyes help. I've heard that with some little ones it's very comforting. With others, it seems to be scary to still be hearing Russian. I suppose it depends on the situation in which they first heard the lullabye.

I am going to have to steal this one for my next post. That is a great idea to get a cd with russian childrens songs on it.
